DURHAM, N.H. -- Scientists from the Atlantic Marine Aquaculture Center and local fishermen will discuss the UNH offshore aquaculture project as part of a NH Sea Grant Roundtable the Urban Forestry Center Wednesday, March 14, from 6:30-8:30pm. Located just south of the Isles of Shoals, the project is developing technology and know how to sustainably farm finfish in the extreme environment of the open ocean. Offshore, submerged blue mussel culture technology developed through this work is already being used by local fishermen.

The public is welcome and there is no charge. Rich Langan, director of the UNH/NOAA Atlantic Marine Aquaculture Center, will speak at the event as will Andy Lang, a local open ocean mussel farmer. For more information, contact Ken La Valley (603-862-4343, ken.lavalley@unh.edu).
